And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Front wheel doesn't have much weight on it. I think the torrent pushed it to the right and the driver didn't react well, probably was worried more about losing his balance and was going fast enough where he just ran out of time and road.
Most bike riders have no conscious understanding of how a bike handles. This lack becomes obvious, and critical, in an emergency situation.
Common statement from accident survivors: "I tried to avoid the object, but couldn't miss it". No, they actually ended up steering INTO the item they were attempting to avoid.
