Wonder where it is now?

  2. If it survived the war, it probably would have been scrapped as it is an early model. The small tail and the lack of blisters indicates that this is probably a PBY-1 which was a pure flying boat with much weaker engines than its successors.

  3. Based on the "0x32" Bureau Number on the tail, it was transferred from VJ-4 to VJ-16, and stricken 31 JAN 1944. http://www.joebaugher.com/navy_serials/secondseries1.html

    VJ-4 was out of Norfolk, and VJ-16 at Guantanamo.

  5. When I was in the RAAF one landed at Richmond. They must be one of the most elegant A\C ever made.
