Was working above 11,000 elev. on restoring an old mine building...step through a sidewall 3-stories up to bolt the end of structural plate and stood on top of a massive timber post...look down with my headlamp and see the top edges were chamfered! Gotta love that level of careful craftsmanship to keep the ends from splitting during transport and handling (and more so, because no one would ever see it once in place).
