Well, that didn't work

  2. A helicopter pilot here at work tells me that the pilot allowed the rotor speed to decrease to the point that the helicopter dropped into the water. The impact broke the chin bubbles (the lexan windows below the pilots' feet). As the helicopter moved forward it scooped up more water weighing the nose down and tipping the aircraft forward until the rotor struck.

  3. my youngest brother is MI-17 and instrument Helicopter Instructor Pilot and UH-1 Test Pilot qualified and I need to ask him to watch this one. MI-8 series are made with steel which explains all the shaft horsepower they have. it was either heavy or lost and engine...
