What a job

  1. Fascinating! I have several books on the Pioneer logging days. My father was a forester, and I tagged along in the early 60's. Which is ironically about the time they had cut all the old growth down. One log trucks, were normal back then.
I have been exposed to a lot of logging activity. When very young, to middle age. I was never a logger, however. I tried at one point, to get a job as a choker setter. They didn't want me. Fine. I got jobs working plywood mills and a lumber mill for a while. Then I finished college, working in the plywood mill on weekends and graveyard shift, to pay for it. And slept in class.
I'm a Marine biologist now, and might retire in . . . .never...
