And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Fascinating! I have several books on the Pioneer logging days. My father was a forester, and I tagged along in the early 60's. Which is ironically about the time they had cut all the old growth down. One log trucks, were normal back then. I have been exposed to a lot of logging activity. When very young, to middle age. I was never a logger, however. I tried at one point, to get a job as a choker setter. They didn't want me. Fine. I got jobs working plywood mills and a lumber mill for a while. Then I finished college, working in the plywood mill on weekends and graveyard shift, to pay for it. And slept in class. I'm a Marine biologist now, and might retire in . . . .never...
When men were men!
