Republic always concentrated on bringing the pilot back one way or the other....this swept winger was much improved over the straight wing version....
My Dad flew the RF-84F ThunderFlash in the Air National Guard, 188th FS in Fort Smith Arkansas, so I was able to get a close up look. To me the RF version with wing root intakes and the camera nose is probably one of the best looking fighter type aircraft that the U.S. Air Force (and some foreign Air Forces) ever had.https://www.airplane-pictures.net/type.php?p=1275
