And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Climbing bears - they're better than you've heard.
I remember very well in 1970, looking at a glacier near Mt. Rainier, when we spotted a rather large black bear running up the slope away from us, faster than I could have fallen the other direction. Saw right away, you'd have zero chance running from a bear....
best view of a grizzly is the view of the bottom of his tail going over the ridgeline two ridges away. the friend i used to take with me was a .30-06 and i think i was under-armed at that. but this is what to expect when you build your house on top of some one else's dinner plate. idiots.
Why is he climbing? Picnic basket?
