I can testify that pomegranates grow like weeds here in the great valley. In my youth I was working in ag in the westside of the San Joaquin valley, and where I was there was a pomegranate tree that grew happily in the driest, most inhospitable place imaginable, and produced fruit. I''ve always had a pomegranate tree since.

We start with pomegranate juice from a small family farm in Madera, CA; they juice their fruit whole in a patented press that renders a matchless, robust pomegranate juice. To that we add cane sugar and orange flower water, and apply enough heat to dissolve the sugar while still maintaining the inherent zip of the fresh juice.

If I can help some family farm in Madera succeed, I will.

Very small, almost microscopic commission earned

  1. They make an excellent demarara syrup for Old Fashions as well.

  2. Tequila Sunrise? Probably a good idea if I don't.

  3. Why are you making the commission statement?
It's nobody's business but your own.

  4. Parents had one at Lake Isabella. Dryest country. We'd take them back to the city and smash the seeds on sidewalks. Looking back, what a waste.
