And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Yeah, I've had one for years also. got it at WalMart. Big one like yours. Heavy. Wife hates it when I bring it out cause we're gonna eat something for 2 days.
I've got a big red enameled one 7 or 8 quart it is heavy empty , fill it up with beef and spuds and you almost need to load it in the oven with a forklift . Sure makes a mean batch of stew or chili tho
Please see my comments (below) on the other enameled cast iron Dutch oven.
ReplyDeleteI've had one for years...works great for everything from stews to no-knead bread. Pro tip: the 7 qt. version is more useful.

DeleteDitto on the 7 qt model, although I also have a 5 qt Staub that I use quite a bit.
ReplyDeleteAin't got no need for fancy cast iron pots, my 100yr old Griswold will cook gumbo just as good. But they sure are pertty
ReplyDeleteI thought a Dutch Oven was when ya hold the old lady under the covers and blast a fart.
ReplyDeleteMade in China, good quality though. I’ll stick with the king of them all Le Creuset.
