Only Steve McQueen could even come close to pulling off that hat.

  3. If that is Tuesday Weld, then the hat was part of his costume meant to look ridiculous in a comedy movie. Soldier in the Rain.

  5. He most certainly does NOT pull off the hat/scarf/coat combination.

  6. My dad said that to make a man look like a fool, turn the brim up all the way around. I rest my case.

    2. Not always true. One exception is the Maryland State Trooper Stetson. Barring that, yes, you're dad is correct.

  7. That darling Tuesday Weld is looking up to Heaven asking the Lord, "Why is this silly US Marine veteran wearing that goofy hat?"

  11. Tuesday Weld hooked me on Dobie Gillis. Watching them again, she was by far the best actress on that show. She could actually act, as opposed to the other "loves" who were pretty, but they were just reading lines.

  12. Only if by "pulling it off" the object was to see how much he could be made to look like a walking erection.

This is one of the times when a glance at the dailies should result in someone punching the director in the mouth.

The last time a character was this beclowned in modern times was what Sam Mendes did to 007 in Spectre.
