And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

DeleteI must have taken almost a hundred flights on various models of the 747, flying to and from Europe during my 35-year career in the oil industry.
ReplyDeletePrior to the September 11 attacks, it was common to have a plane that was less than half-full, meaning I usually had several seats together to myself.
KLM and British Airways always had a delicious aroma of brewing coffee during the boarding process.
I miss those flights.
