And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Well, until they let me carry more effective methods in my classroom… I do… a couple actually…. I keep ‘em handy…. Better that hiding in the dark…as per instructions.
Make sure to have a bag of rocks and rock hound book in the car otherwise it could be regarded as a weapon in a traffic stop. Always have a fielders glove if you pack a bat in the car for the same reason
My daughter is close to done with her M.S. in Environmental Science and I got her this one this past Christmas. She was a bit puzzled about that. I reminded her that she sometimes is in the field sampling soils, etc. and a good hammer could be useful. I think she’s still a bit skeptical.🤔
Picked up an economy version (a mason's hammer) to clean up a load of used brick, which I subsequently used for garden paths. You won't need one until you do, and that's when to buy one.
Lot of places where i live you can not use a shovel panning for gold or river rolled gems. Handy mostly the point end for prying up rocks so you can snipe around the interconnecting rocks. Once in a while come across a piece of white quartz needs be cracked apart chasing a gold vein running thru it or matrix holding a piece of tourmaline or beryl.
many people walking this earth STILL think that crap, how many fossils & petrified limestone-sandstone remains are found in crude oil...? Yall tell us , please.
I've got that hammer, but with the leather wrapped handle. I've done a lot of fossil hunting with it. It'll usually split a concretion very easily. Now I've got the urge to head out to Mazon Creek this weekend.

I've had exactly that hammer for many decades. I don't use it much, but when I need it nothing else will do.
