The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? From Wikipedia: "In 1950 two Cadillac 61s were entered in the Le Mans 24 hour race. One was a stock 61 series coupe. The other had a modified aerodynamic body, nicknamed by the French press "Le Monstre". They finished 10th and 11th respectively" That's the front of Le Monstre peeking in beside the stock bodied coupe.

Sidney Allard put one of the new Cadillac engines in his J2 and took third at Le Mans in 1950, 18 laps up on the Cadillacs.
