And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Now that's a sound room with a nice collection of sounds
I'm starting to notice that folks are going back to that kinda set-up. I work for a country wide woodworking store. We are beginning to see more and more woodworkers coming in and looking for lumber to "build a speaker system".
I hated buying records when only one song was good. I only have 400 tunes in my playlist that would have required buying about 300 records. Some people have playlists with 5k, 10k or more tunes . How many lps would be required? Some things are better.
I bought a subscription to TuneBoto that allows you to download digital music (5K/month) from your favorite service. I'm coming up close to 100K songs, different genres ranging from the 1920's to present day.
Which music is clipped, chopped, and compressed, and the reason audiophiles tell you (correctly) you're listening to second-class sounds, but most people don't notice the difference.
Do what you like, but understand what you may be missing.
Correct. I know the faults of digital music. However, I'm not independently wealthy, so something is better than nothing. Those that I truly like, I have on LP.
I hope our intrepid audiophile has had the foresight to at least sister up their floor system either that, or they're already in the basement. There's roughly 1,000 pounds of vinyl in view and the photo implies that there are more just out of frame. That's pretty much library level design loading or 2.5X normal residential capacity.
Smart setup. Most people put their speakers on the same unit/shelf as the turntable. I guess they like acoustic feedback.
ReplyDeleteto drool over. speakers look like JBL and the integrated amp looks like a Luxman. And what a record collection!! That gal has a great system.

ReplyDeleteWhere are the speaker wires?
ReplyDeleteDon't necessarily need those anymore.
DeleteBlasphemy - why ruin the audio fidelity with Bluetooth.
DeleteYeah… why let a little impedance distort your audio output 🙄
DeleteI didn't say it was a good idea...

Delete$15 for 5,000 songs. What do albums cost these days? I'm on a fixed income.
DeleteThe little stand for the album cover being played is a nice touch.
ReplyDeleteThey're listening to Aimee Mann.
DeleteThat’s pro level. A nice glass of wine, fine cigar…quality time.
ReplyDeleteScratch the wine, add Woodford Reserve and the good cigar, higher quality time.
DeleteHow about no booze or smoke and just use your unincumbered and sober senses.
DeleteI believe those are JBL 4312 Studio Monitors. I had a pair of those back in the day.
ReplyDeleteI still have my large ancient speakers from back in the late 1960's. They don't sound nearly as good as today's tiny speakers.
ReplyDeleteNice setup….the acoustics have to be really harsh though with all that hard surface & hard corners.

ReplyDelete"My neighbors listen to great music.
ReplyDeleteWhether they want to or not."
