And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
The very existence of the place suggests there was once a better class of people. (The current denizens did not build it.) A better class of people make a nice place to live or visit.
Ferris Bueller's Day Off was a 1986 movie. Filmed when Chicago was still a fun place to go and a (mostly) nice place to live. What a difference nearly forty years makes. sigh.
The otherwise looking chicago moonscape on the southside is most likely where the stockyards used to be. Mostly desolate now as the smell during a typical summer would burn out the nose hair.
At my age, 65, that would be hard on the back.

DeleteI did that with my dad's Fiat 124. I hit a bad RR crossing doing about 70 and went airborne. Stuck the landing.
