And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Build this machine, then sail it around the world. No small feat.
A huuuge investment. The intent of a sea battle was to capture, not sink the enemy ships. A captured ship would be bought by the admiralty, making the captain a very rich man.
Hi John, I don't think so. The Golden Hinde has a deer for a figure head (a hind is a female red deer). I thought it might be HMS Victory but a quick check online shows a very different bow structure and figurehead. I just did some searching and found out it's the Gotheborg, a replica of a Swedish ship built for the India trade in 1738. Al_in_Ottawa
Leo over at SampsonBoat.co.uk is up in Port Townsend, WA, restoring the 1915 Tally Ho from the original plans but with modern accoutrements for world sailing. He is young, yet has serious skills (along with his team). He's almost there...proving the boat building craft and all accompanying support crafts are still ongoing.
Back before there was TV and other electronic distractions humanity got a lot of things done.
