And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
The New Jersey has a YouTube channel that shows everything they are doing to it while it's in dry dock. If I had a suspicious mind I'd almost think they were re-generating it for some reason.
It is September 1968, and my US Marine M-67A2 Flame-thrower tank is stationed at the "Charlie-4" outpost just south of the DMZ in Vietnam. One bright and sunny day, we take our tank out to the ocean and look out onto the horizon of the South China Sea. There is an apparently "good sized" US Navy ship sitting offshore and as it moves parallel to the land, a huge blast of fire comes out of her forward guns. The blast is a long as the ship is wide. WOW!!! It is the USS New Jersey that had just come on station for the first time since WW-2. What a sight!!!
