    1. Same here (guess we're gettin' old LOL!). Just looking at it the other day and thinking I should replace the bits that have gone missing over the years.

  2. as long as you remember to put them back when done.
and what do you do when you break one?

  3. When you break one, you buy a replacement. Duh. Just like you sharpen them when they get dull. The real problem is that these are cheap Chinee. Look good, dull fast, got 'cher super duper nitride coating which will be around for at least a couple holes. A GOOD set, PTD, LaTrobe, heck, even Drill Hog, will run you at least twice what these cost, and probably 3-4x. 'Course, a good set well maintained will last 50 years. Mine have. Some of 'em have gone from "jobber" to "stub" length, but they still work fine.

  4. I have a drill bit set that starts at 1/16" and goes up to 1/2" graduating up by 16th's. I have had it for about 30 years and about half of the bits have been changed out because resharpening a stub became pointless.

  6. This looks like a good starter set. When they dull or break, resharpen those you can and replace with CTD/Norseman drills.
