That stag, and the patina!

  1. I've seen some knives with a vinegar / mustard applied treatment to the blade that sort of give that appearance of damascus steel. I agree - the steel appearance is pleasing to the eye.

Northwoods Knives - they sell quality cutlery. And bring Mastercard because they are proud of their cutlery and price it as such. Above my meager means but I'm not envious.

    2. It's worse than you thought...professional food photo stylists use dish soap to make the perfect-for-camera bubbles.
      Now you know.

    1. Who knows. There's a whole subculture out there that obsesses on the EDC ethos, and they tend to get into weird tools like that that you can put in your pocket or something. Maybe you need it only once, but when you do, there's the tool for the job right there at hand.

  4. I think of patina as an effect of weathering and aging from use. All of this gear is unique and very nice but it doesn’t look to me as though it’s ever seen a pocket or the bottom of a backpack or the wet ground after being dropped while out in the bush.
