Tahquamenon Falls State Park encompasses nearly 50,000 acres and stretches 13-plus miles in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The park is home to multiple campgrounds, overnight lodging facilities, a boat launch, more than 35 miles of trails and multiple overlooks to the Upper and Lower Falls.

ReplyDeleteWe went camping there in the 70’s temperatures 100 to104 degrees and sat under the falls to stay cool.when we got out out all of were orange for a few days.
ReplyDeleteSmall river that runs past my work place drains a swamp and is dark brown due to tannins. The locals call it Cocoa Cola Creek but its really Maymorn River.
ReplyDeleteThe U.P. of Michigan is full of wonder! If you're up there wandering around, if you've got time, stop by Kitchitikipi spring, rather an amazing place. Big trout in that spring.

Every Labor Day weekend since 2006 there is a fly-in to 6Y9 Picket Grooms airfield in Sidnaw.
DeleteFantastic setting. You don't have to fly to attend. Bring camping gear or RV.
