And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I still miss my '57 Super 88! That sucker was pretty fast for a big car, but you could lose the brakes if you worked then too hard. Traveling between college in NY and home in NJ, I used to stop at the top a Thruway entry ramp, wait for a car to come under the bridge, and then beat them to the end of the ramp! A lot less traffic back then. This one looks like 98 base on the length of the rear fenders and trunk.
my mom's first work car (used) as a visiting school librarian. the old man drove it to NC from cleveland on our annual vacation (as an expert, to "blow it out"), the exhaust manifold cracked and we jerked around in pittsburgh waiting for the repair. later the driverside ball joints failed and laid the wheel flat while she was on her way to the library.
'57 was the only year with the three piece rear window. Interestingly the next year Vauxhall (GM's British division) had the same three piece window on the new Cresta. What is the blue car behind it? Al_in_Ottawa

DeleteAnother one of the "olds" in addition to the "four olds" that they want to get rid of - old cars. I'd take a 57 Oldsmobile over any brand new vehicle.
