  2. The school bus is the best "instant cabin" ever! Safety glass all around and if a tree falls on it, there is just a dent! Not so much with a "camper". Plus, you can install a wood burning stove!

Gerard would agree, but then say: "Enough with the exclamations!!".

    1. Very good to see the Gerard reference; he is sorely missed.

    2. Indeed. There's a big gaping hole in the web.

  3. Got a friend who has a short bus camper conversion. Not as wide as you might think inside

  6. if you are thinking of converting a bus, know these two things:

you can't get insurance for a school bus. if you insure it as a Class B ( church activity bus ) and you get in an accident, they don't have to pay up. school buses with the frame above the axle roll over wat too easy. insurers do not differentiate between these most common school buses and the much rarer low frame buses used for transporting athletes to sports events

if you break down lae enforcement will quite reasonably determine that a broken down bus is an attractive nuisance and have it towed to an impound yard. a wise bus owner will have a separate bank account with $5000 reserved for a tow, and a list of truckers with a flat bed big enough to haul it to where you can store it. Uh, dude, if I had $5000 more I would have bought a better bus
