And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
It looks good for an architecture magazine maybe, but not that practical for cooking. You need nice overhead spots coming down to your prep surfaces and stove top, so you can see. And you'll be wanting a divided sink and a Lot more pots ! Looks like that island gives a lot of prep space though, and that's good, but...... where's the fridge? On the other side of this huge room?
It is my understanding that kitchen designers almost always have the stove, the sink and the fridge on an "L" shape pattern close to each other. The fridge should be to the left of the sink or to the right of the stove.
Kitchen design has come a long way since the mid century when this kitchen was built. People that take kitchen use seriously prefer a large single bowl sink. We have the Kohler Cape Dory model.
Stoves like that one are great, would love to have one because when it comes to serious cooking and you only have 4 burners and no space for large pans and pots that stove you see here is a blessing.
Smeg Australia 150cm Classic Opera freestanding cooker, 7 burners plus griddle, about $15,000. I'll pick one up later this week for my studio apartment...
Also, move the shelves to the far right and put the refrigerator in on the left part of the counter. If we cannot see it in this shot, it will mean a lot of trekking about to use it. An isosceles triangle set up is the best.

DeleteIt's a big kitchen and a good sized area for preparation.... and there are a LOT of knobs on that stove!
