And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I have a 6 year old Colt 1911 Government in 9mm that has close to 60k rounds through it. I also have a 2 year old Glock G45 in 9mm with about 400 rounds through it. I have had more misfeeds and stove-pipes out of the G45 than the 1911. The G45 has been back to Glock twice and they have shot more rounds through it than me. I have had 9 other Glocks that have been trouble free. My G45 is a lemon that will be traded in on a different model soon. The G45 is a Blue Label gun and I have to own it for at least 2 years. That clock expired last month.
I've had lots of 1911's. The few that had "issues", came with " improvements". My current 1911 is a keeper. I've been carrying and shooting my "current" Glock 19 since 1990. No complaints yet.
I have my grandfather's M-1911 that, according to the serial number, it was made in 1913. It fires perfectly each and every time the trigger is pulled. I favor it way ahead of my far more modern 9 mm auto. or my 38 cal. revolver.

Don't bring an ax to a gun fight.
