And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
1st Gen crapola. Either spend the money for actual IR night vision, or just buy a better flashlight. This is the worst of both worlds. When you're trying to buy a $2K-$3K item for $169, you'll get exactly what you pay for, in every sense. Nobody who's ever looked through real night vision would ever mistake this for that. Flashback to comic book cardboard Polaris submarines, and Sears walkie talkies from the 1970s, and that's what league this thing is in.
The FLIR product, added later by the bloghost, undoubtedly does exactly that. And goes for 4x the price of the GThunder.
The GThunder Chinesium p.o.s., formerly the only subject of the post, is 1st Gen IR, and requires an IR light source to even be useable, for the barest value of that word. With night vision, you always get exactly what you pay for. See ghostsniper's comments below.
I have an earlier version of the 1st one. Too much to get into here, but both models shown will disappoint you. For decent thermal imaging you have to spend a LOT more money. I've been waiting years for the prices to drop and it looks like they never will. The first model is OK as long as you are prepared for the short comings. I bought a powerful handheld IR flashlight to extend the visual range. You'll never use it to shoot a gun nor will you walk while looking through it without becoming disoriented and stumbling or falling down.
1st Gen crapola.

You would know about crapola, you leave enough of it around wherever you go.
DeleteBeen working on that one for awhile, have ya?
DeleteThey do say they work by detecting infrared heat.
