And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

As you're trying to aim, that goes off in your face
I have a friend that used to put on mountain man demonstrations. He was as close to the real deal as modern times will allow. Too much powder in the pan, I can attest, they can actually be quite easy and accurate.
Way too much powder in the pan.

ReplyDeleteToo much powder in pan, first time firing my Short Land Pattern Brown Bess it happened to me. No harm but learned lesson.
