  4. Too much powder in pan, first time firing my Short Land Pattern Brown Bess it happened to me. No harm but learned lesson.

  5. I have a friend that used to put on mountain man demonstrations. He was as close to the real deal as modern times will allow. Too much powder in the pan, I can attest, they can actually be quite easy and accurate.

    1. My son wants to hunt deer with a flintlock, and he’s a lefty. They can be found, but you have to turn over a few rocks.
