  3. Those are paddleboards, not surfboards. Likely, that is the lineup for a paddleboard race.

  4. Every so often I surfed a 22' paddleboard. It turned like a battleship. Once I figured that out, I played all over the wave, walking to and fro along the plank. I had a blast

    The other surfers didn't like that I could catch waves way outside of the other guys.

    1. That was a rescue paddleboard kept at San Clemente Lifeguards.
      Years later, around the late 1980s I saw it sold at auction for $3,000.
