And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
That carpet.... House I grew up in had technicolor carpet like that. If you dropped something on it, you had to search to find it. You could barf on it and not see it.
That would likely be Congoleum. That stuff came in all sorts of patterns from this sort of deco to looking like fine carpets. Cheap to obtain, simple to use and lay down in the dining room, kitchen, living room and have the look of high style!
Just like the kitchen I grew up in the 1950's where we consummed lots of spam, baked beans, franks and Kool Aid. The only thing I don't see is the Philco AM radio where my mother listened to soaps while she was cooking or ironing.
Well at least the kids didn’t have asthma - electric oven!
