And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Looks like my 64 when I bought it. Took 7 years to restore it, then discovered I was too tall to not hit my head at every bump. Sold it with regret but it was a fun project.
In 1975, buddy of mine bought a sixty six in the same shape. put a SBC and four speed out of a wrecked '69 Z28 into it. In a moment of sanity, he refused to put the live axle in the back. A guy wonders just how it is that Jaguar managed to build those things without having the rust start BEFORE the shetin was bent. I've seen British cars in the AZ southern desert-a fairly dry place-rusted into a pile of red dust with a few plastic bits laying among the debris. Most Jags I've looked into have rust holes in the tin a guy could shove a sheep thru with engines corroded so that it would blow away if the barn door was left open.
That's one sad looking little Jag there.
ReplyDeleteWhen I bought my red 1966 E-Type Roadster in 1970 it had 48,000 miles on it, cost the astomnomical sum of $2600.

Used to be I'd see an XKE out on the road every once in a while, now hardly ever. All the survivors must be sitting in collections.
ReplyDeleteAnna the internet whore is back. FFS. That Jag looks more like a catfish head.
