And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
It was designed to eliminate the less adroit wannabe aviators. I had a boss back in the early 1960s who flew one in the Pacific circa 1944 as a USMC staff Sargent.
I remember reading about an American pilot that climbed to knock down a Japanese recon plane. It was so high, they guns froze up. He chopped off the tail of the recon with his prop. Lost one blade, but made it back safely.
The Japanese called it the Whistling Death. They definite do have a whine or a whistle when they zip on by. Beautiful plane. WW2 high performance fighter aircraft with no room for an instructor are way ahead of you until you get them figured according to what I've read.
