And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
We once tried to use barriers like that to keep a cat away from our Christmas tree. He easily lept over it. We went to two barriers stacked up. He easily got over those, too. The tree was his. He liked to nap among the presents. We gave up, and made a space among the presents for him. Problem solved. No brriers.
I was once standing in the kitchen, and Tyrone, my orange and white tom came walking into the room, and leapt to the top of the fridge. I didn't know cats could jump like that.
On the other hand, Tristan, my 27 pound Siamese, who was built like a Clydesdale could not jump like that.
We got Truss as a wee small kitten, and Tyrone decided he was Tristan's Dad. Tristan could never understand why he could not jump as high as his six pound Dad.
Our young tuxedo cat named Alex is a pain in our butt. Jumps up on counter, tips over anything within 6" from edge of counter, just to watch it fall. He opens up bags of food he can't smell through (apparently he can read, lol), tearing through with his teeth and can judge the distance to the foot how fast he can escape from us without any damage to him. Smooth criminal that one.
Graceful

ReplyDeleteOur 22 pounder climbs up inside the tree and tips it over. And she can scale a gate like that cat in the gif. She's very stealthy.
