A quality shower is living life large

High Pressure Handheld Shower Head with Powerful Shower Spray against Low Pressure Water.

Is this effective? I can't get it in California because the Democrats have made it illegal.  So effective that it threatens the state.  That should answer the question.

  1. if you are mechanically inclined you ought to be able to remove the flow restrictor in about five minutes.

    1. I have drilled out the limiter washer on both of my showerheads. When I traveled with work I carried a no restriction shower head and would swap it with the hotel shower heads.

  2. Handheld shower heads that sell for less than 50 bucks are mostly made of plastic. In order to get one that is all metal, expect to spend more than a 100 dollars. The exception to that is this brand which has several models:

All Metal 3-Spray Hand Held Shower Head with Hose and Holder, Chrome | Select from Wide, Massage, and Mist Sprays | 2.5 GPM High Flow Handheld Showerhead

They also have the California compliant version which limits flow to 1.8 gpm.

  3. I have a hansgrohe setup. And if I don't use the whole tank of hot water, the job isn't done. Cost's less than a dollar to heat it up.

  6. It can't create pressure.
If you don't have good pressure already do as Ruggles above says.
Also, the tiny nozzles get clogged with sediment.
Soak the nozzles in white vinegar for 24 hours then rinse through thoroughly with clean water.

    1. Faster to use CLR, non-diluted, in a container, then just pour the chemical back into the bottle when done, ready for the next use. Hour, tops, to clean plastic nozzles. Metal ones might be quicker to clean.

  7. When the state has a say in your personal hygiene, you need more than a shower to get clean.

  8. I lived in cali from 84 off and on until 2010. When they passed the flow restrictors law it was a simple matter to ignore it. There is something very wrong when legislators pass laws they know will simply be ignored.

    1. First rule: never give a command that you know will be ignored.
