  6. My ex-wife's mother was a WAVE in WW2. When she passed, the family was surprised to see that she was buried in her uniform, as she requested.
    When my father-in-law passed and was buried, he was wearing his Naval Commander's dress whites.
    In neither case was I surprised.

  7. Whilst Daddy was off on a scenic cruise of the South Pacific courtesy of the United States Navy, my Mother stayed home and kept busy pouring liquid explosives into shell casings and screwing fuse assemblies into hand grenades in an ammunition plant. No riveting there, of course......
