And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
My ex-wife's mother was a WAVE in WW2. When she passed, the family was surprised to see that she was buried in her uniform, as she requested. When my father-in-law passed and was buried, he was wearing his Naval Commander's dress whites. In neither case was I surprised. Blessings on them.
Whilst Daddy was off on a scenic cruise of the South Pacific courtesy of the United States Navy, my Mother stayed home and kept busy pouring liquid explosives into shell casings and screwing fuse assemblies into hand grenades in an ammunition plant. No riveting there, of course......
