  2. I could use one of them war-hammers. Though the shafts always seem too skinny.

    1. That's not a wooden shaft. That is braided rawhide. The flex adds to the speed of the strike. Think like a stone on the end of a whip, but much stiffer. Soak the hide til soft and cut to size needed. The rawhide strips are very thick before braiding together and shrink to a very tight weave when dry.That is how the head is kept on the end, the hide goes around it. Tough as a buffalo.

    2. And when swung at your felt-hatted head, would eff you up when it connected. That's one serious melee weapon.

    3. Good to know, now I want one more than ever. I would have tried to put that stone head on a hatchet handle.
