And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I also saw it as a kid. When a snake dropped out of a tree into the boat, I jumped, got a charley horse in the calf and would have sworn I had been bitten! My mom still laughs about that.
I remember that one. Ray Milland was in his "I do it because I have to eat" phase, as Orson Welles said in reply to a "Why do you take these awful parts?" question. I once saw the comment, "You're pretty old if you remember when Ray Milland wore a toupe, but you're really old if you remember when he didn't need one. "The Big Clock", "Dial M For Murder". Great Milland movies.
Saw it on Svengoolie a ways back, not so good…

ReplyDeleteSam Elliott was truly the Nic Cage of the 1970s.

Terrible movie. Right down there with Night of the Lepus.
