And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
They look like either Weber IDA's or IDF's. A choke for each of the six cylinders. A little overkill for a push-rod Six. But that might be a Section of a 50's Jag Radiator so it might be an XK120 3.8 or 4.2 liter. They usually had a bevy of Weber side drafts like DCOE's but horizontal room might have been at a premium. BTW, two IDA's are easier to tune than three DCOE's. I would put mesh screens over the trumpets as pebble ingestion can hold open the throttle blades leading to all sorts of bad things.

Slant 6 is a crossflow head IE intake on the drivers side of the head, exhaust on the pass side. Not a clue what the body is but I'd bet it's a straight 6 flathead motor hiding under that busy ol' hood.
without loooking at any of the comments, it is middle/late 30s a bit of steampunk, maybe Hudson Essex Terraplane. After posting I will look at the pinterest link.
Are those Weber Downdrafts?

ReplyDeleteWill that hood section even open with the carb's in the way??
DeleteLift-off hood and the side hinges down?
DeleteI think you're right, lift-off; hence the four-finger handles down the middle.
DeleteIs it a 6? Open that hood!!!

ReplyDeletePut freckles on that 6 and I might ask her to marry me.
ReplyDeleteI don't think that's what's meant by "Slant 6."

DeleteI believe a slant six has the carburetors closer to the middle of the engine-space.............

DeleteOdd placement, where are fuel lines and throttle linkages? Might just be cosmetic.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work....5 cylinder Audi?....
ReplyDeleteIt appears to be a straight 6. But what is the horn looking thing on the hood?
ReplyDeleteOld school aviation venturi tube?
