Throwback to a better time

  1. My daily driver today is a 20yo ford truck. About 40 years ago in high school I got a free 62' Tbird from Ray's auto salvage to race at Beacon hill speedway's bomber class. I demolished it and the crowd loved it. The Tbird was about 15yo old at that time and worth about a hundred bucks without a title. I doubt today's cars will ever evoke these kind of good memories.

  2. My daily driver is a 20 yo Chevy Blazer 2dr 4x4 and my back up is a 30 yo Chevy S10 that is the only new ride I have ever purchased and probably the last.

  4. Wild guess...Mt. San Jacinto in either Palm Springs or Indio.

  5. I worked an engineering design contract in Roswell back in 2000, and fell in love with the area; both the desert and the grass prairies. I went back to the area last year; one last Great Run, and I now wish that I could have found a way to move down there permanently. I spent the better part of a week exploring ghost towns in eastern NM, and the only reason I came back home was missing my beautiful wife of 40 plus years.
Thank you for your site; I enjoy stopping by here a few times a day.

  6. Thenderchickens bring to mind countless early 60s movies and TV shows starring Jack Lemmon as a smarmy ad executive cheating on his shrewish wife with a dim bimbo secretary. I just can't shake that connection.
