The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? Indeed, Mike. Beauty and truth are the enemies and targets when communists take power. They create neither and so must destroy them. Sometimes beauty comes about despite, or perhaps to spite, communism. I’m thinking of the Bolshoi ballet and Katarina Witt.
Just watched a video of Witt skating in Sarajevo 1984. Beauty and grace in motion. I have been a balletomane for 45 years. Natalia Makarova and Mikhail Baryshnikov dancing "Giselle". Just wow.
Mike. I never saw Makarova but I saw Baryshnikov several times (as did you, I’d think). This was in his New York City Ballet days and he simply was dealing with different laws of physics from the others from what I saw.
He defied gravity. It was unearthly. Besides Makarova, he danced with Gelsey Kirkland. See his movies as well: "White Nights" and "Turning Point". The dancing...the dancing.
There was sufficient warning that the family could have escaped. The problem though was that the warning was not believed until it was too late. See any similarities to anything going on today?
