Boeing 727 Crash Test - Pilots and 1st Class: Dead. Everyone else pretty much ok.

  1. Landing on sand, why was the landing gear down? I'd think that's what snapped off the nose of the aircraft.

    1. The way the angle of attack drove the gear into the sand definitely played a roll in that break.

    1. Exactamundo. Thanks for the clarification. I'm sure it has been presented in many 'Net plane crash compilations as "fact". After all, it is a REAL crash, except remote controlled. You did your homework ! 4/12/2012

An example of this type of technology is that manufactured by Systems Planning Corporation (SPC Inc).     1. And there is very little chance cessna 172 pilot training can give you needle in manhattan precision. Take from this what you need...

    2. I worked for SPC many many years ago. Mostly ex CIA and other spooks. Did a lot of spook work. 500 employees of whom about 100 were VPs. Sheesh.

      Work a lot with Boeing now, both flight and maintenance training. Never ever heard anything about a system to take over a flight, in fact, just the opposite. No such system is there as far as I know because of the extraordinary security issues involved. If it is there, it can be hacked, so it is not there.

    1. I'm really picky when I get on an airliner. I want to see some gray hair atop the one in the left seat. something about no old, bold pilots. the best is female pilots that are ocd on all the little details that can save your ass. crew resources training is all about suppressing ego to support a team effort. the one in the left seat is the boss; but, being human, knows that sometimes it just ain't so.
