  1. Very nice saw. Now if only I could afford wood.

  2. My 40 year old Skil 7-1/4" circular has cut a million board feet and even worked about 4 hours today cutting 11 sheets of 3/4" OSB. It cost less than $50 back then. One of these days I'll need to replace the cord. It'll do everything that Festool will, but better, and has.

    1. Ghostsniper I have an old 12" Skil saw it was my Grandfathers, heavy as built like a tank, years ago I removed the plug off it, it scared me that much to use it. Fast forward a few years I needed to cut some heavy timber beams, the only saw that could do it was the "old" skil.Great saw and they don't build like that anymore.

    2. That 12" Skil is a keeper. Comes in handy for the big stuff but can be used for smaller stuff as well. I have a 12" Milwaukee that I bought for a one time use project, cutting 10"x10" wood pilings on a house on Useppa. Haven't used it since. But it's sitting there in it's case if needed. My 7-1/4" Skil has the black and white wires sticking out of the case. I need to get serious about fixing it. When I do, the new cord will be longer, maybe 10 or 12 feet. Cords is funny, the longer they are you longer you need.

  3. Pretty cool but most of us don't have $600 or better to blow on a skill saw and all circular saws are "plunge cut" and will cut a straight line if you know how what you're doing...

  4. I have an 8" Ryobi circular saw, that will do the same job.

  5. I bought a DeWalt 20v after my Rockwell gave up the ghost last year(50+ years old) and am very happy with it. Setting up a straight edge to rip 8' sheets of plywood takes a minute and with no cord to contend with, it's breeze. Love it.

  6. This stuff is for professionals. I have a lot of festool equipment, and when you build cabinets, remodel, for a living the stuff is worth it. I have several Makita circular saws and chopsaws, all their battery line thats great stuff also.

  7. Unfortunately, they're a dozen times more expensive than they have to be.
