And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Once saw a mid-19th century painting of a beach scene in Peru. Aside from cosmetics and a coastal highway, not much has changed. Shopped around for a bit trying to find a copy or a starving young artist's facsimile. No joy. Ended up taking a .jpeg to Wally Whirl and making a suitably sized color print. Along side a similarly acquired Tu Do Street bar scene, it's graced a cave wall ever since. Easily among the most satisfying $2 investments I ever made.
Absolutely beautiful. This is quite wondrous artwork. I sure would welcome a picture into m house.
ReplyDeleteWe have a very nice print of that second painting displayed in our foyer.
ReplyDeleteThey ARE beautiful. I would appreciate knowing the artist's name.
