And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
ALL financial instruments are based on trust. Once that trust is violated people cease trusting those instruments and thy become worthless. This reality includes ALL paper AND digital currencies. If you can't hold it in your hand it can be devalued....or made worthless...in an instant. Which is why precious metals....including lead and brass...will always have value and fiat currencies/digital currencies have value on!y till trust fails. And trust in our financial system is plummeting.
So it IS a shell game.
