The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
OTOH, I know of a LT COl promoted 'early' to full bird whose response to the inevitable "What did you do to get promoted early?" was "best I can figure, two Article 15s and I crashed an airplane."
Years ago, bird migrations being a seasonal hazard, C-5’s out of Dover would make early weekend morning practice approaches to Dulles.
