Saturday Road Trip

Drove Redding to Burney to Lassen and back to Redding.

Above, Highway 44 near Shingletown.

Lassen looming just above the horizon.

Typical scene along Highway 89.

Still life of blasted rock and silver wood.

Down a dirt road.

The sun getting low.

Interesting country.  Not much traffic in the late afternoon on a winter day.  Got down to about 30 degrees right at five o'clock near Old Station.  I'm sure it got much colder last night.

  2. I've been to Oregon a few times years ago on biz trips. Very nice views outside the cities. A shame what is happening in some cities there.

  3. Now you are in MY neighborhood. It was 19 last night.

Re the burned areas. Hat Creek fire, lightning caused. A couple of years ago. It will be fine in 10 years. Imagine what it looked like right after the various volcano eruptions. Time heals all.
