And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I have been working on charcuterie this summer. Don't look quite like these, but I am not ashamed. Mario Batalli's family ran a very small charcuterie and restaurant, Salumi, near King Street Station and the ball fields in Seattle's Pioneer Square for many years. Grand mamma sat in the front window on Thursdays making gnocchi. They had a dinner that you'd have to reserve seat for at least 2 months ahead. Went once and holy moly! Made mozzarella, the Magnum bottles of wine flowed, we sat at picnic tables mostly, and the meats! At lunch they'd put a plate of charcuterie slices on the counter for picking. Best be there by 1 or stuff sold out. Armandino Batali was a maestro! Still around but under new ownership and location nearby.
