Mouth Watering...

  1. I have been working on charcuterie this summer. Don't look quite like these, but I am not ashamed. Mario Batalli's family ran a very small charcuterie and restaurant, Salumi, near King Street Station and the ball fields in Seattle's Pioneer Square for many years. Grand mamma sat in the front window on Thursdays making gnocchi. They had a dinner that you'd have to reserve seat for at least 2 months ahead. Went once and holy moly! Made mozzarella, the Magnum bottles of wine flowed, we sat at picnic tables mostly, and the meats! At lunch they'd put a plate of charcuterie slices on the counter for picking. Best be there by 1 or stuff sold out. Armandino Batali was a maestro! Still around but under new ownership and location nearby.
