  2. Best advice is to try it out under varying conditions, find out it's limitations. I never had one before and didn't know anyone that did. The hardest part is holding it steady, especially at long distances. Steady your hands on a tree, side of a building, whatever. Try to find a decent clearing because branches, even small ones, between you and the target will give a false reading. Worst part, because amazon descriptions are wanting, is that this unit comes with a CR2 battery, which I was unfamiliar with. So I went back on amazon and bought 8 more rechargeable batts and a charger. Otherwise, it was a good purchase and I recommend. As long as it holds up for the duration whatever that is.
