M26 Pershing “Fireball,” knocked out by a concealed Tiger in Elsdorf, Germany. The first shot penetrated the mantlet, killing the gunner and loader. The second went through the muzzle brake, causing the loaded 90mm gun to go off, distorting the barrel. The Tiger subsequently got stuck on a pile of rubble and was abandoned. 26 Feb 1945.
Tough luck for the tank and crew as the Sheridan was a match for the Tiger 1. But, every tank has weaknesses and if caught at the right time at the right aspect, well...
