  1. I don't have a clue what breed it is, but that is one seriously tough looking customer!

  2. Canary Mastiff - Perro de Presa Canario. Large but not giant. "Suspicious, Strong Willed, Dominant, Gentle, Calm" Look like he got 4 out of 5.

    2. Seems that the dogs were really not to blame but the owners, actually the previous owners, for tying them on short chains in a remote part of a farm. No social interaction, no time to become "civilized".....and being territorial, she wandered into the right place at the wrong time.

I am in firm belief that there is no such thing as a bad dog, only bad owners.

    5. If y'all will read just that Wikipedia piece (there's a lot more info available,) you'll see that the dogs were raised by a "high-ranking Aryan Brotherhood member" currently serving multiple life terms for murders. His lawyers took in the dogs and kept them in a San Francisco apartment building.

Pretty obvious to me that the dogs were doing what they'd been taught to do. Keeping a trained attack dog in a city apartment building is and should be considered a criminal act.

  6. I'm still amazed that this dog and other large breeds share a common wolf ancestor with Chihuahuas, Pekineses, Yorkies, etc.
