  3. "ExtrudeHone" was the patented process. worked well for polishing things. It turned out that in some applications the surface roughness was a good thing. However, when all one is doing is moving very low viscosity fluid(air) thru a tube(intake manifold) smooth is good. moving air with fuel entrained in the air, surface roughness helped keep the fuel entrained with the air.
    process was sort of pricey as I recall and could remove a lot of material very quickly, like a semiliquid grinding wheel

  4. More trouble than it's worth. I build 25+ engine's a year & I don't see any use for my shop. But then I build hp outboard engines. A little ball hone & a flapper wheel does the job.
