And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
The Brits had Grants. He looks Brit with that head gear. It has a riveted hull which means it's an early Grant(probably before the US got there). The Brits had more M3s in the desert than the US. Odds are is Brit. It also looks like the shot took off the driver's view port cover. The cover and it's hinges are completely gone. One broken bolt from the right hinge is visible(upper right). The second bolt is gone. All that's left is the hinge on the hull for the piece that proped the cover open(lower left).
Missed me by 'that much'.
ReplyDeleteI know that guy. His name is Rick O. Shay.

M3 Grant ?
ReplyDeleteGrant or Lee, can't see the upper turret setup. But that's definitely the hull gunner/radio operator's position.
